Discovering the Power of PyTorch: Deep Learning in Python

I have commented out the cuda section for simple model demonstration in Google Colab, however the basic structure is the same.

In this example, we define a simple neural network using the nn.Sequential class, and a cross-entropy loss using nn.CrossEntropyLoss. In this example, we first define a simple neural network using the nn.Sequential class and a cross-entropy loss using nn.CrossEntropyLoss. We then define an optimizer using optim.SGD. Next, we generate some random data for input and target, and then loop through 10 epochs of training.

At each iteration of the loop, we pass the input through the model to get the outputs, and then calculate the loss using the criterion function. Before updating the parameters of the model, we zero the gradients of the optimizer using the zero_grad() method.

Next, we calculate the gradients of the loss with respect to the model’s parameters by calling loss.backward(). Finally, we update the parameters of the model using the optimizer’s step() method. We print the loss after each iteration to monitor the training progress.
